The Cypriot National Node, represented by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING), provides a focused contribution to biomedical data standardisation and translational informatics, supporting the development of interoperable and reusable clinical and molecular datasets and strengthening the infrastructure for high-quality, standardised, and interoperable biomedical data across European paediatric research networks.
The core activity is the FAIRification of clinical and molecular datasets, ensuring alignment with FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and international data standardisation frameworks. This service supports the transformation of heterogeneous clinical and genomic data into structured, interoperable formats suitable for secondary use in research, data integration, and cross-cohort analyses. CING contributes expertise in molecular genetics, thalassaemia research, and biomedical informatics, with a strong emphasis on data harmonisation, metadata standardisation, and the implementation of FAIR-compliant workflows.
