Bologna is the lively, historic capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, in northern Italy. Its Piazza Maggiore is a sprawling plaza lined with arched colonnades, cafes and medieval and Renaissance structures such as City Hall, the Fountain of Neptune and the Basilica di San Petronio.

Palazzo Hercolani is located in the historic centre of Bologna, a short distance from Piazza Maggiore. It is easily accessible on foot or by bus, with several lines stopping nearby. In the surroundings of Palazzo Hercolani you can visit the Church of Santa Maria della Vita, the Fountain of Neptune and the International Museum and Library of Music.

 

The Poeti room is located inside Palazzo Hercolani in Bologna, a sumptuous late eighteenth-century residence with a grandiose staircase of Baroque theatricality, decorated with sculptural groups of mythological subjects by Giacomo De Maria and surmounted by the Apotheosis of Hercules by Filippo Pedrini.
