EPTRI Contributes to the TRANSFORM Position on the European Biotech Act

EPTRI is pleased to share the recently published TRANSFORM Position Paper on the EU Biotech Act I: Strengthening Europe’s Framework for ATMPs.

As a member of TRANSFORM, EPTRI actively contributed to the development of the Position Paper, which addresses the future European framework for biotechnology, advanced therapies, and innovation ecosystems. The document highlights key priorities to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness and capacity in the development of innovative health solutions, including advanced therapeutic approaches.

Within this context, EPTRI particularly supported the reflections related to paediatric research and advanced therapies, underlining the importance of ensuring that children’s needs are adequately considered within the evolving European biotech and regulatory landscape.

EPTRI also highlights that paediatric aspects currently remain only marginally represented within the Biotech Act framework. For this reason, EPTRI is working on additional reflections and contributions specifically focused on paediatric research priorities, innovation pathways, and regulatory challenges affecting children’s medicines and therapies.

EPTRI will continue collaborating with TRANSFORM and other European stakeholders to support coordinated actions advancing paediatric innovation, regulatory science, and the development of safe and effective therapies for children.
