EPTRI application to ESFRI 2026 Roadmap

ESFRI, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures, is a strategic instrument to develop the scientific integration of Europe and to strengthen its international outreach. ESFRI has established a European Roadmap for research infrastructures (RIs) and stimulates the implementation of these facilities. The next Roadmap will be launched on 2026. The applications for this new Roadmap are now open!

The RIs ecosystem vision intend to serve and interconnect research and researchers throughout Europe and globally. Investments in RIs have been seen mainly as support to research as they meet the demand of the scientific community for state-of-the-art resources, services and data.
EPTRI is a RIs specifically dedicated to the development of paediatric drugs, diagnostics and devices, which is an area presenting huge unmet medical needs, particularly when we focus on orphan disorders.
The inclusion of EPTRI in the ESFRI 2026 Roadmap represents the recognition of EPTRI’s efforts to boost paediatric therapy development and will strengthen EPTRI’s mission of implementing competences, research strategies, access to key technologies, standardised models, and analytical tools and to offer to public and private stakeholders qualified basic, preclinical and translational research services covering paediatric therapy discovery and development.
