Director of Research at Institute of Traslational Pharmacology (IFT) of National Research Council, Palermo. Head of Clinical and Environmental Research Group of Pulmonary and Allergic Pediatric Diseases (ECAMPAP). She obtained Degree in Medicine and the post-graduate degree in Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Intensive Care and Pediatric Immunology and Allergology.
She later earned a PhD in “Science and Medical and Experimental Applied Biotechnology” – (XXV cycle) – Experimental and Clinical Pulmunology, of University of Palermo and second Degree Maser in Epidemiology at University of Turin. She has been teaching and doing research for over 20 years in Pulmonary and Allergic Pediatric Diseases at School of Pediatrics, University of Palermo.
She cooperates in European and National research and development projects on clinical and biological aspects of pediatric allergic disease and asthma, epidemiology and risk factors in pediatric allergic disease and asthma and artificial intelligence and Innovative Electronic Health Interventions in improving treatment adherence in asthma. Scientific activity is documented in International and National peer-revied journals focused especially on allergen immunotherapy, allergic inflammation, epidemiology of allergies, asthma and rhinitis therapy, evaluation of medical adherence by using of innovative digital Health Technologies, development and validation of Patient Related Outcomes (PROs), development and validation of methods of BIG DATA analysis in environmental epidemiology.
