Pier Luigi Martelly got the PhD in Physics at the University of Bologna in 2001. Since 2021 he is a Full Professor in Biochemistry at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology of the University of Bologna. He works in the field of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, with a focus on the application of Machine Learning approaches for characterizing the structure and the function of biological macromolecules and inferring the possible effects of residue variations on stability and relations to diseases and phenotypes.
