Daniel Weiss is a computer scientist at LMU Munich, Dr. von Hauner Children’s Hospital, working on digital research infrastructures, data management and translational paediatric innovation. He has 20 years of experience in the university and clinical research environment and has also founded two small startups. This combination shaped his view that some infrastructures are best built by the public sector, while other innovations require agile companies and market-driven implementation. His current work focuses on federated data use, multi-omics integration and AI-supported precision medicine for children. Within AMIGO, he contributes to building a sustainable European ecosystem in which paediatric hospitals, technology partners and innovators can create clinical and scientific value from high-quality data while keeping sensitive patient data under local governance.
